Leagues

Pinetree Pickleball Leagues combine structured organized league play and flexible scheduling to provide a convenient, fun pickleball experience. Each division consists of players or doubles teams that are placed in a division based on their selected skill level. Depending on number of registrations for each division, some skill levels may be combined where it makes sense.

What kind of leagues are offered?

Pinetree Pickleball Leagues offers Men's and Women's Singles and Doubles leagues, as well as Mixed Doubles.

How long is a season?

Each player or team will play a 7-match regular season, with additional playoff weeks for the top four teams in each division to decide the league champions. You schedule one match per week and play when it fits both you and your opponent's schedules.

Choose your skill level.

Leagues are designed based on skill level. Please self rate yourself to the best of your ability. We want everyone to enjoy a fun, friendly and competitive pickleball League. Skill levels are based on the following ratings:

  • 2.5
  • 3.0
  • 3.5
  • 4.0
  • 4.5+ (4.5 and up)

Currently divisions are set up as 3.5 and Under, and 4.0 and Above. Depending on registration numbers for each league, more divisions could be created based on skill level.

Playing Doubles? Pick your partner.

You get to choose your partner for your doubles team! Be sure to list your desired partner's name when registering for your event and have them do the same. Don't have a partner but still interested in playing doubles? No worries! Instead of putting a partner name when registering, type "Need Partner" and we will help you find another player to form your doubles team. If you and your partner are different skill ratings, we will typically put you in the division matching the highest player's skill level.

How to pick your home court

A player or doubles team chooses their "home court". We have selected 8 venues as possible home courts for players or teams in the Greater Bangor area. If you know of a court that is not listed under the Venues section and would like for it to be your home court, please let us know! The court must be within 25 miles from the downtown Bangor area.

The home team always provides the balls for play. IMPORTANT: If you select Armstrong Tennis Center as your home court, you as the home team will be required to book the court for your home matches and cover the court fees. All other venues are free to play at. Please be cognizant of rules of play for community courts. Some local courts at high schools in the area give school departments first priority to use the courts for educational recreation.
